punishment for her
It is hard to tell whether this woman should get punish or not. Lose baby is very harmful to a mom, every mom love their baby, yes there are little chance not. I think she is one of the not. It is so odd how could she forget her own baby and left baby in car for eight hour? That don't make sence. I really don't believe it. This woman must be very careless her baby. For that reason this woman must get punish. Go to jail is a good ideal for her. That make she knowns why she is her and how fool she was. That will also give alert for those careless mom. Don't think lose child by accident will be a excuse for her.

Harm but not a punishment
It’s harsh for me to make a simple decision to judge whether the mother should be sentenced to jail or not. Losing one’s own child by accident can not be simply measured by the law, where between the Mom and the baby are too many emotions. Of course, I confess that from the professional law perspective, the mom’s behavior has already broken the law and even not on purpose. If that, we can easily put the mom into prison without any question. But, I am sure the accident will bring the horrible memory for the mom for the whole rest of life, which is the biggest difference from other crimes. So, to this issue, I don’t want to make a simple judge, but to say, in the world are many things we can not value and judge just from the reason.

Loss of child as punishment?
It is not easy to decide whether to send a mother that has left her child in a car in the summer to jail or not. Honestly, I'm not even sure what I would do if I were the judge.
Obviously the mother did not kill her baby on purpose, or wanted him any harm. Not only did she lose her child, but even worse, it was her own fault, and she will have to deal and live with that guilt for the rest of her life. Therefore I understand why some people think that an additional punishment is not necessary
On the other hand, however, being a mother involves a lot of responsibility, which the mother in this case obviously lacked. How could you possibly "forget" about your own child?? How much attention do you pay to your child if you don't notice it in your back seat? Looking at it from this perspective, the mother committed a crime; because an infant is absolutely helpless, it relies on its mother. However, the mother in this case failed in her "job" as a mom. If a mother cares so little about and for her child to simply forget it was in the car, she shouldn't even be a mother, and deserves punishment.
After all I think there are good arguments to sentence a mother like that to jail time, as well as not to. However, I think the police should also research whether the woman was usually a good mother, or if there had been more incidents already.

To error is human, to correct is humane
This case is not a sheer tragedy to me. Suppose there is a law that inquires parents can not leave their babies in the car, could Nesselroad-Slaby be so careless to lock her baby in the care and what’s more unbelievable to me, forget the thing totally? It is just because people lack of the awareness of leaving baby in the car without attendance could possibly lead to its death that causes the tragedy. What’s important is not weather the careless mom should be punished or not, but what can we can do to avoid such kind of thing happen again. If there is anyone should be blame of, I suggest it should be the unsounded law. “To error is human, to forgive is Devine.” If this is true, then I argue that to error is human, to correct is humane.

maybe some other punishment for her?
When I hear this news, first things came to my mine is this woman should go to jail with out a doubt. Come on we talking about a human, not some animal, a life cute 2-years old baby girl, but event it is an animal they have punishment for that too. I am furious, no parent should make this kinds mistake, if you do so it only mean you don’t care enough you children. Of cause there are some reasons why this woman makes this mistake, but that did not give her a reason to stay out of “punishment.” For now I was concerned is what will happen to her family and her daughter. No child will have happy childhood with out a mother. Any way in my personal point is if go to is jail is not a very good choice for this family, maybe some other punishment for her.

Dilemmatic Situation
In the news, the mother left her baby in a locked car for eight hours, which leads to the death of the baby. Some pople believe that she should get the jail time, while others claim that the death od her child is punishment enough. It is really a dilemmatic situation. Personally speaking, I insist that the mother should be tried.
For one thing, it is her lapse that makes the baby die. She should be pubnished by law though she has been punished of losing her child. She is the guardian of her child. Therefore, the mother is fully responsible for protecting the child except the accident. But it is obvious that her neglifence causes this tragedy. So I hold the view that the mother should be tried to receive proper punishment.
Also, in the past 10 years, there have been many similar cases happened and most people have been charged for their lapses. Under this circumstance, there is no reason allows the mother to escape from the punishment of the law. And it can warn people of being more careful about their babies as well.
Based on all above, I think the mother should be tried and receive proper punishment but taking her sadness of losing daughter into account.
