Fairy tales of Obama

From this article, i compared McCain and Obama hardly because i did not learn about anyone deeply before. Actually i get something important from this article. I know their supports , proposals and so on.
As far as i am concerned. i am in favor of Obama. First, he supports protecting environment and benefiting automakers. What's more, Obama is very concerned with education, he emphasizes importance of math and science. It is right because technology needs this kind of person who possess professional knowlege about math and science. In addition, he cares about children who have no money to attend school and i am inspired by his charity. Third, he is very humanization on marijuana, he is a honest person. He knows how people feel pain that their desires to get drugs. He also supports giving another chance to make first-time, non-violent offenders, it is very kind to them and it reflects his spirit of Democratic Party. Finally, he suggests a lot of practical plans for China, i think these plans will push China and America to more friendly position.
So this is the reason why i support Obama .

support Obama

In the American the politics is a such big things for them, depend on what kind the president they have, they will have different feature in the next four years. Right now in American elation at the first time of history they have black male in the elation to become a president, his in Democratic paty, and he is the one i will vote for. In other hand his comparere which John McCain is in the candidate paty the one i don't like. Anyway after i read this airticle i storgely agree with Obama, such as his position at on energy, education and marijuanna. Most the stuff he talk about i agree with him, that why i chosen him to become the president.

vote for Obama

First, I want to say that I'm definately no politics person and know nothing about it. Based on the material comparing policies and views of both Obama and McCain on different matters, if I were to vote, of course I would vote for Obama, like most people do.
Obama is black, as we can see. So if he becomes the next president, he would be the first black person as President. Actually, as a non-citizen of America, I really want to know what it would be like for US to have a black president. Well, that's just from my perspective.
More importantly, I would vote for Obama because of his policies. Simply consider details given on the material, it's easy to see that he seems more humane in many aspects. Plus, given his attitude towards China, no wonder I would vote for him if I could.

Obama, Go Go Go!

After reading the comparition between McCain anf Obama, personally speaking, I think Obama would be a better candidate for the next United States president.
First, Obama supports using more renewable energies and biofuel. As it is known to all, the waorld now is facing the problem of the sharp rise of oil price. So the renewable and biofuel is the best way to control the price and get rid of the crssis. But McCain claims to look at more nuclear possibilities. Nuclear will pollute the envirnment and threate the safety of human beings. I am against to use nuclear.
Second, Obama wants to make math and science education a national priority. The development of the economy cannot go without the advancement of the science. Also, math can shape our precise logical thinking. These two subjects are the most important. So they should be paid more attention to.
Last, Obama wants to enforce all standing trade agreements with China. It makes me happy indeed. It is the win-win situation for both America and China. What's more, China keeps peace as our credo. So it is ridiculous for McCain to concern about the boom of China.
Based on all above. I strongly support Obama. But it is a pity, I don't have the right to vote.

Mccain vs Obama, support Obama

Compare Mccain and Obama,it is very hard to make a choice for following year president. From Mccain's energy view, raising the energy is a good ideal to decrease american's driving rate, but it will not help a lot to decrease driving rate. Fromthe Obama's energy view, using more recyle energy is a very good ideal for energy saving. That will protect our global warming. Also, use bioful instead oil gas. That help support environment circlulatiobn. From, Education view Mccain has very good ideal for inventment money to school quality. But his range to big. Only specific for school to make choice. From, Obame on education view, I feel it is better ideal, Obame want make math and science grades better. That's very importan for the children in the US now. As I know, US science and math levels are lower average compare to the other country, but US is a modern county that's will decrease american economic and position on the world. So, I feel Obama is more understand american. I will suopport he.

Americans need a new face!

After reading the analyzing articles from the Wikipedia and the Washington post website, I prefer to vote for Barack Obama. The below are the reasons that favor my viewpoint.
First, from the personal formative experiences, it’s easily to find that Obama as a black from the common American family, he understood more about what the Americans in poverty need and what influences of the federal social policies with the public. Nevertheless, although McCain had a wonderful and honorable navy experience in the American military, his past as a prisoner of war in the North Vietnam for five and a half years will inevitable have a significant impact on his action in the future. From their positions is not hard for us to notice that the claims about energy and human rights, McCain pays more focus on the basic living right as a human being, he gives the public more choices, safety and freedom. But Obama’s positions are more realistic compared to McCain’s. Their attitude towards China which is the most important developing countries in the world is rather important to me. Because of his past as a POW, it’s more possible for McCain to take unfriendly actions to China.
Then, age should also be an significant part for a voter to focus on. That is not to say it’s too old for McCain to be the president, but, it’s not the right time for him to take that place. As we have already seen, the development of American’s economic is not as steady and fast as in the Clinton’s president period. Facing to the bankruptcy of LEH, the weakening of the American economics is rather apparent and it’s a better idea for the Americans to have a president who can take more active actions to the economics and have the courage to carry out the reform. From that point, I am sure Obama is more qualified for the position than McCain who is more likely to be conservative to the national economic reform and tough and stark to the other countries.
So in my mind, I would love to see Obama become the next president, and I’m sure about that!

Obama for President!

Not only am I of the opinion that it is time for Bush's politics, and therefore the Republican party to step back, and have the Democrats govern, but also do I prefer Barrack Obama's ideas and perspectives over John McCain's. Over all McCain appears to more concerned about the upper class, rich people, whereas Obama seems to better cover the middle class's needs, average people. For example, he believes that child care should be made more affordable, for in many families fathers as well as mothers need to work in order to maintain their family. Also, even though by admitting to have done drugs he might appear unprofessional, I believe it makes him look very honest, and just human, and many people may like that. However, I do have to agree with McCain that the use of Marijuana should not be legalized in the United States, and could lead to the use of more harmful drugs.
Furthermore, I like that Obama is worried about paying back debts, and enforcing trade agreements with foreign countries.

My choice is Barack Obama!

After reading the comparison between Mc Cain and Barack Obama, who should be a better candidate for the next United States president? I have to say an advised option for me is Mr. Barack Obama. The comparison is throughout the position on energy to position on China and it is also the fundament of my determination.
First, the position on energy, in this aspect I have two words to describe Mc Cain and Barack Obama respectively, realistic and Idealistic. The Mc Cain’s position is absolutely realistic because he focuses on the problem of rise in price of energy currently. As a result, he supports nuclear possibility which has already applied in the real world and the off-shore-drilling even though it is a contradiction to his earlier viewpoint on drilling. Whatever, Mc Cain’s position looks a little short-sighted. The Obama’s position seems better as he suggested a way to solve the energy problem in the future. Unfortunately, his position can hardly come into reality in a specific period. So they both have advantage and shortage in position on energy.
Second, the position on education, in my opinion the Obama’s position on this issue is more appropriate than Mc Cain’s. From reading the comparison, we can know “Mc Cain supports to empower parents by greatly expanding the ability of parents to choose among school for their children.” This perspective seems unreasonable as everyone should have the right to choose what kind of education they want. At least, choice for school should be a jointly determination by both parents and children.
From position on marijuana, the abuse in drugs like marijuana should definitely be forbidden. However, if we can’t find a more effective and safer way to relieve pain for patients in medical process, we don’t have sufficient reasons to oppose the use of marijuana for medical purpose. In this case, the Obama’s position seems more rational.
The last comparison between Mc Cain and Barack Obama in the article is the position on China. For me, both of these two candidates should consider this issue in a new way. The globalization is an inevitable trend. As China is a country with a large population and resources, simultaneously it successfully applied the market system. The China’s economic boom is undisputedly reasonable. If Mc Cain and Barack Obama have ever taken the course, International Economics, they will know the corporation and trade would benefit both parties ultimately.
In conclusion, after consider all above comprehensively, I regard Barack Obama as a better president candidate who would give America a better future!

McCain VS Obama

I felt a little disappointed after I read their positions on various political issues. It is Ok when it comes to the domestic issues, however, when it comes to the international topic, they both seem to be narrow-minded and short-sighted. If I have to decide which one could be a better candidate, I prefer McCain. I will present my reasons from different aspects as following shows.

Energy aspect. Obama’s plan is quite charming and environmental-polite at the first sight, but I think it lacks of practicality. I don’t think it could be so easy to phasing out incandescent light bulbs by 2014 considering the huge amount of bulbs and the widely use. To look into clean coal uses as a way of freeing the US reliance on the foreign oil is a temporary action to encounter the pressing energy shortage and could be very costly regarding on the potential R&D found. What’s more, the exchange with US automakers seem naïve to me. It is not the political interference could make the hybrid production but the strong market economy to decide the way. It could be wiser to figure out some reforms on the economic system than merely using political actions.

Education aspect. Admittedly, the school vouchers have its side-effect in a certain way, but I believe the school vouchers ensure a larger flexibility for parents to choose a better school for children. Though the effect of market economy, the schools surely would spare no efforts on improving their education quality. That ultimately benefits the students and the whole education system. What’s more, the Obama’s idea of education seems elitist education. That’s could cause big unfair and social conflictions since the criteria on judging a student is high-quality or not could be various.

Marijuana aspect. I am really surprised someone could support the legalization of marijuana in this highly civilized society. I completely agree McCain’s idea that is a “gateway drug” that leads to use of harder, more harmful drugs. In contrast, the Obama’s idea seems naïve to me since when considering the potential high possibility of drug abuse, his position on Marijuana obviously fail to hold water.

Position on China. I think they are both narrow-minded and short-sighted because they still use the “Cold War mentality” to deal with international relationship. It is better to seek a win-win relationship rather than set up a new enemy. The “China threat theory” is an excuse for US to enforce their military to me. The potential danger of new Army Race cannot be ignored. The China’s economic boom is inevitable tend, but it never could be a “concern” or a “threaten” to US.

To sum up, McCain does a better job than Obama in domestic issues, while they both lack of foresight when it comes to international affairs.

America needs change.

Armed with firmness,Obama didn't smile even when the audience supported him with thunderous applause and cheering during the speech of"Change We Need" on September 16,2008.If I'm an American citzen, I'll no doubt vote for him in the belief that he is decisive, brave, and practical.
Whether a candidate will be a good president depends on what he has done and will do instesd of what he has boasted about. In terms of energy, McCain wants to look at more nuclear possibilities while Obama has set clear goals about "phasing out the incandescent lght bulbs ". What big difference! Besides, when I surf on the internet ,I can easily find the Obama official website, whereas the McCain official website hasn't turned up to me yet! These small things can fully convince a girl as sensitive as me of his greater ability to be a president.
As an African-American, he was brought up knowing how important a role the hierarchy has played in today's social life and what the people from the middle class and even lower class need most. He must find himself a fish out of water surrouded by white men in politics. He comes from the difficulty, and has already had the achievement . America is in the difficulty, and will go to success by his firm leadership.
In fact, let's look at McCain's position. The idea that the millitary can play a role in influencing the current rise of China and Russia and promoting America's economy is woefully mistaken.Though the economy in China is indeed growing fast , it is still a developing country.Believing harmony the best policy from ancient times, will China be so sadly naive as to attack other countries instead of developing its own economy?.Look what practical things Obama has suggested. Though reducing the amount of debt held by Beijing may cause dissatisfication of China, the fact is that if America cannot recover from the economy depression, the whole world's economy will be affected .Obama has the courage to protect America's own interest and he will do it!

We need the change

The collapse of the Soviet Union changed the world order since WW II. And at the end of the Cold War, the world political structure turned from a bipolar to a unipolar superpower status. The United States became a leader of the world and no any other country can contend with it. However, with the recovery of Russia and the rising of China and India, there is something gonna happen to change the unipolar world.

It's obvious that Barack Obama's position is adapting the new trend, which is a wise choice. Anyone who tries to go against the trend of the world is doomed to fail.

Energy. The energy is limited though abundant. So developing renewable energy is crucial. John McCain's "drilling policy" is not a good way to solve the problem because it will not only consume the only resource we have but also bring about environmental problem.
Education.School vouchers put public school in a disadvantageous position due to the lack of money and it's not good for the working class. Another possible result it may lead to is that all kinds of "bad" students go to the public school because private schools become more selective with more applicants, which may lead to the abortion of public school and lapse of universal education. Obama's position concerned more about the working class and is for the fair of the society.
Marijuana.Limited use of Marijuana is necessary unless there's a better way to reveal the pain of people. It's quite humane. And it's important to "give first-time, non-violent offenders a chance to serve their sentence, where appropriate, in the type of drug rehabilitation programs" to let them know that they can still have a good life if they change rather than letting them feel they've abandoned, which may result in worse consequences.
China.Of course it's important to at least keep the trade agreements with China because it's somehing mutual-benificial--that's a good deal. And the reducing of US debt by China is reasonable because decline in the dollar exchange rate causes large amount of foreign exchange reserves owned by China evaporated alomost over a night. And the devolopment of China is beneficial to the United States and the whole world. On the contrary, John McCain wants to streghten the already powerful US army, which can only make China and Russia upset, which is not good for the peace of the world and is also against China's Harmonious World idea.

We need the change so we need Obama!

biggest achievement

I don't think I have any big achievement in life.
May be one time when I drove all the way to home.
I remembered it was late night and I just learned how to drive,
but I am not very good at direction, I was lost about a hour, then it was late mid-night
I locked someone's door, then this lady helped me, and I finally way back my home.
But it took a lot courage for me to lock someone door specially late in the night.
Finally I did ask and make my way to home. I am so thanksful that, this lady really help me and drawed me a direction.

Stop abusing fertility drugs

I am not against the use of fertility drugs, but I strongly object to abuse them.
As the article tells, the 27-year-old woman was pregnant with seven babies by using the fertility drugs. It was heralded by Egyptian doctors as a miracle. I think it is ridiculous to ask the doctor to make the woman concieve in order to have a boy. And it is also incrediable that the doctor used the drugs so easily. This story is the tragedy of abusing fertility drugs.
In my opinion, Fertility drugs can't be used to those who have had three or more children already in thier family and they still want a boy. They can't treat woman as inferior to men. It is the nature law that woman and man is relatively equal. If every family only want one gender, the population will have a sharp rise on the earth. Eventually, it will lead to the complete destruction of the nature. So there is no excuse for those people to use the fertility drugs.
However, for those who haven't have a child before and really need this kind of drugs to hlp them to have a baby. It s acceptable.
I think the solution to that problem is to control the produce of fertility drugs. And make certain law to limit the use of it.

no fertility drugs,please!

There are millions of strange things happening in the world at any time and this is one of them.
A 27-year-old woman having ten children with seven of them septuplets is really frightening. Plus, what's more frightening is that the septuplets were born out of the use of fertility drugs, which may do a lot of harm to the babies.
So I really think fertility drugs can't be used to help women conceive. For those women who are still fertile, try not to use drugs when still can conceive.Drugs are still drugs, babies born out of the use of drugs can't be 100 percent healthy babies. If you can't conceive, you can choose other solutions, such as adopting an orphan. Orphans are healthy babies. So why can't you be open-minded and adopt an orphan rather than having an unhealthy baby yourself.
I think since the septuplets are already in this world, what the family should do now is either try hard to earn money to raise ten children or ask the government or society for help. And I want to tell the septuplets that "Welcome to the world".

It's not the fault of using fertility drugs.

To the question of “should the use of fertility drugs be used to help women conceive?” I think the answer is positive. In the passage Alexandria got seven babies because of the fertility drugs and that gave a great pressure to her family, but we can not deny the positive and significant meaning of the fertility drugs to those who can not deliver a child and worry about the family support owning to the situation above.
But what we should be concerned about is how to make a full use of these drugs without the side-effects. The key is to depend on the doctors and the medical technology. The patients themselves just can make a decision about what they want to do, but they do not have the knowledge and experiences to know whether they are fit for the drugs including their physical status and the family’s economic conditions. So it’s the turn of the doctors and the medical technology. They must be mastered of the relevant knowledge about the fertility drugs and other related issues to make sure of protecting the safety of the patients and their families.

They should use fertility treatment rigorly

Wa, for a couple have three children already and still want a boy, at the end they get seven more children. That's miracle, they should have Iron Man's strong power to take care their family.
I total understand boy is more important than a girl. In other hand government should rigor their fertility treatment. That will not just help Ghazala family, it will help many poverty family. In Egypt government facing over population and economic decline problem. So, it's very important government to solve over population and fertility treatment.

Is it worth doing that?

When i saw this article, i was shocked by her. Just because of wanting a boy, she must spend more time and money on her septuplets now. I am wondering whether it is worth doing this mad thing. What's more, i know she has a poor family and she has had three daughters from this article.
As far as i am concerned, i can not say whether using fertility drugs to help women conceieve is wrong or right definitely. because if a woman can not give a birth to babies and she has no baby, i will support to her. In turn, if a woman just want to have a boy and use fertility drugs, i will be scornful of her behavior. In addition, i think it is against morality. As this article says it caused the family more poor. Moreover, i think it will affect governent and benefit premium. That is to say, the government will spent more on this poor family. Society maybe donating to them.
In a word, i want to say the use of fertility drugs should not be used to help woman conceive except they really have no babies.

Well,It depends.

When I saw the title that an Egyptian woman had septuplets as a result of the fertility drugs, I was pleased as there're so many women heartbroken for not being able to conceive after all. Being a mother means that a woman's life can be continued and colorful. There is a saying in China that a woman's life is not completed if she doesn't have a child. Thanks to these fertility drugs, a lot of women can realize their dream to be a mother.
However, when I take a close look at it, I 'm a little upset. It is disturbing to think they took this risk even though there are already three girls in their family and might be complications to the mother and the babies only because "they badly wanted a boy".Although I know there are still some sexual discrimination even in the most developed place in the world,it is still unbelieable for that Egyptian family to sacrifice so much . Is a boy really better than a girl?
Maybe next time doctors should think twice when a family wants to have fertility drugs only because they want a boy even though they've had three girls.

Taking so many risks just to have a son?

I think it's sad that Ghazala Khamis was forced by her morals and culture to take fertility drugs in the first place. It seems to me, coming from a more developed country, that it shouldn't matter if you have a son or a daughter as long as they are healthy, for over here both genders can be evenly successful in life.
Even though Mr. and Mrs. Khamis wanted a boy in their family, life would have probably been much easier for them raising just the three girls they already had. By taking the fertility drugs, Mrs. Khamis should have known (or been told by doctors) about the risk of having a multiple pregnancy or maybe even another girl instead of the desired son. Furthermore, like mentioned in the article, the Khamis own a home with only two rooms, and Mr. Khamis works just a few days of the week. Therefore they are going to have to face many difficulties such as not having enough space, food, and simply money to afford a ten people household. But hopefully they will be able to get some support from the government or maybe even someone who reads about their story.

Absolutely negative!

It is not only ridiculous but also dangerous to use fertility drugs to help women conceive. Using the fertility drug when the technology is still immature with potential dangerous can do very bad harm to the women. Considering the unbelievable burden that might cause a family into a miserable situation, the use of fertility drugs should be under strict surveillance. What’s more, the sexual discrimination plays a crucial role for the drug abuse. And that’s obviously against the human nature. This kind of sex discrimination is not a high civilization society should have. If there is no regulation or law for using fertility drugs, the population balance between men and women will inevitably broken down. The risk is too high to ignore.

Admittedly, there are also some circumstances that the fertility drugs could be used in a particular group. Such as women that have the bearing problem, it is reasonable for them to want to have a child though technological method. In this situation, I think after an appropriate applying process the fertility drugs could be used to help the desperate women and help them to enjoy a family life. Otherwise, I strong against the idea of using fertility drugs to help women to conceive.

What they need is not a sound boy, they need a sound attitude.

Good luck to this family

At first of all it is shocking to here this new. After i read this new I totally i understand them. In my country most people are prefer boy rather than girl. As a result in certain way it has damage the family life needed. Most time it will make people poorer than before when they don't have that many kids. My point is if you are rich or have enough money to support you childs, it is ok to have them, but is you don't have that much money to support you children, don't have it. Beside most the time when some one have that many kids in once time, that childrent are not as health as the normal childrent, accordingly to that you will need more money to support they health, beside as a father you want you kid be health. Anyway i think they can use fertility drugs to women, but only the women have enough income to support they kid or some women don't have any kids. besides the papulation are incress to fast, i don't know there is enough space for people live or what.

Anyway,it's not appropriate to give Mrs Khamis drugs

Nowadays, the fertility drugs used for helping women conceive is widely applied all over the world especially in developing countries. The reason is not that complicated-it’s absolutely cheap.
However, this kind of drugs is effective but risky, extremely risky. Because the use of fertility drugs may deduce the high-risk pregnancies as a multiple pregnancy and even have threats to mother and fetuses’ life!
From the article, we know the reality is Ghazala-the mother of septuplets is definitely not an infertile woman. She has already had 3 daughters and she is only 27 years old at the same time. So, to give a fertile woman fertility drugs, is an undisputed mistake! No to say her family is impoverished! At least in this case, it isn’t involved much with religion because everybody doesn’t want to see this woman suffering from her rest life with 10 children for lord’s sake!!
In the end, we have to do something to arise people’s caution about using fertility drugs especially doctor’s caution! Give a fertile woman that drug should be forbidden and be careful when prescribe fertility drugs. This drug may be an angel for infertile woman, but in turn, it would be a devil if doctors are not cautious enough!

Not the Sciene to Blame

Fertility drugs is used to help those infertility people so it's something good when it was invented. Science is supposed to help with the progress of human so it is not the science we should blame for the problems "it caused". Actually, it is us, who take advantage of the science should take the responsibility about how to use it.
In Khamis's case, she use the drug because she wanted to boy, not because she can not have children----she already have and THREE girls. But why she wants a boy? That's because girls in Egypt "can only inherit a portion of their father's money.""In many parts of Egypt, if she doesn't have a boy,it's as if she didn't have children at all."
Then why the doctor Abdel just gave Khamis the drug?I don't know. But the problem is when Adbel found their are nine heartbeats and advised Khamis to do fetal reduction she refused. I believe it's because of the religion though now they allow abortion. The former idea runs very deep into Khamis's mind.
So, it's obvious that it's other elements more than the fertility drugs that make the thing happen.
In a word, I think the drugs should be allowed to help people who really have problems while people should think twice before taking them.

No Matter How Small The Power Is, It Is Still A Support!

After reading this article, it makes me think a lot about the plastic debri and pollution. That's the effectiveness of their hard travel. So I strongly support this type of activity to raise awareness for different social problems.
Nowadays, people are getting used to hearing the normal way of propaganda about the social problems. It makes no sense to them at all. They just regard them as a piece of news and will pay no attention to them.
Therefore, the two men go to extremes and use a amazing way to draw attention of the public. They spent three months crossing the Pacific on a raft made of plastic bottles. It is hard to image how many difficulties they've met, like the food, storms, lonliness. I am sure that few people would risk their life in order to awareness social peoblems. But they did. They have a strong sense of the social reponsibility, which makes them have an adaenture like that.
I believe the public is deeply touched by them. They not only create a miracle, but also raise the people's attention successfully. Taht's a good way.

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Yes, they made it. So what?

Yes, they made it. So what?
So they can raise awareness about plastic debris and pollution in the ocean as they wished? At least, I do not think so.
We only know it was tough and hard for them to sail all the way from California to Hawaii, but how tough? We can never know what kind of difficulties they overcame during the past three months because it is not us that went through the whole process, so how can we possibly know that how urgent it is to stop polluting the ocean? I think the people whose awareness had been raised are them. So the whole action doesn't make sense at some point.
Whether it works or not, who cares? Still, there are people working very hard figuring out some ways to catch other people's attention claiming that they want to raise awareness. Whether the awareness has been raised or not, let's see...

The wonderful activity

From this passage, i am moved by them. They are real heros and i think they get their goal. They do it so hard and pay more attention to social problems. I am inspired by them, so i support this type of activity to raise awareness.
Noadays, almost every ocean is polluted by garbage. As this passage says these debris finally will step onto dry land. It is terrible, i think . Because it will also affect humanbeings and threat people life. If we do not do something to prevent it, the world will be disappeared. These men creat a wonder, they make a great effect on people who are concerned about environment. I think it will motivate people to protect environment and do something usefull for this world. Somebody think they do meaningless thing, but i think it can attract many people paying attention to current. I believe many people will support them like me.
In a word, i understand the meaning what they do. So let's save this earth and do something helpful to this world!

Well done!!!!!!!

Nowadays people are getting more and more busy without being conscious that they are in fact misunderstanding the true meaning of life. There are instances when some people get lost, some are exploring, and the others are experiencing the true happiness for the simple reason that while some are too self-centered, some people know true happiness relies on how much you give to rather than how much you recieve from the others.
What invariably happens is that there's one kind of people who is always complaining everything in his life. They dislike their parents as they are not rich enough, get bored of their schools because they're not famous enough,or even be fed up with the environment they live.As a result, they give up, become more and more pessimistic, and even leave the world. The problem is why don't they do something to change those things?!There's always hope that the pollution will be less and less in our world. In fact, what we need is not only hope, but action. It is not only the scientists or cleaning staff's duty to do those things, but ourselves!
Imagine the tremendous excitement on board when the two men saw the people on the shore waving and cheering at them. What they do does not only add color to the dull routine of everyday life, but also a touch of green to our world. It also exerts a peculiar fasicination on us--Our life could be so meaningful.Few things can be more impressive than the happiness when we combine the different social problems and our everyday life together.Just do it.

Not the phase to do that already!

With reading the article carefully, I had a feeling that it’s another nonsense issue. Although the pairs and Savage aimed to raise the public awareness about plastic debris and pollution in the ocean through their trip, it seems that more people would like to take the news as another human heroic undertaking in a short time, rather than understand the real meaning of the action itself. That makes the whole hard process as a meaningless work.

I believe that after reading the news about their activity, many people would live as before and never think they would make some changes about their bad habits simply because there were three men crossing the Pacific on a raft of plastic trash and meeting a dozens of difficulties. The three men just raised an old but still unsettled completely question to the public without giving a useful solution to them. Most people will take an attitude that “It’s none of my business. And if you want to forbid us to using plastic, please tell us what we can do?”It’s a realistic question we should concern most about.

With a series of serious social and environmental problems around us, we have already got awareness of our responsibility to the whole world and human beings, but what we should do and what lifestyle we had better take is a confusing issue. In other words, setting up a stage for us to let us know what we should do in the future is the key point of the problem.

Does it make any sense?

Looking at the title and picture, my first reaction was smiling but with a little bitter feeling. I confess that what they did has already aroused people's concern or in another way-attention. However, the attention is absolutely not enough for solving the problem of debris and pollution in the ocean. Now, there are more and more publicities about environment protection they are everywhere on the TV, news papers and Internet. But do they have valid influence? The answer might not be positive. It seems that more people became numb with this kind of publicities and now it will be more difficult to change their attitude in wasting.
In addition, I do respect Marcus and Paschal for they both have a brave heart and I appreciate their concern with environment protection at the same time. They have a positive purpose that is to creatively raise awareness about plastic debris and pollution in the ocean. In my opinion, their behavior might not be most efficient and effective way for solving the problem. What we should do is to focus on education and finding means like some new application in technology to deal with pollution. The education I mentioned in last sentence is not the simple education like what Marcus and Paschal did to show how serious that the problem of pollution now but to tell the people specifically what damage would pollution lead. Maybe that's the key to this question.

Good Job?

With so much hard work they then, but absolutely meaningless and danger, it told me that if you want change something in the “world” you have to think carefully. Clearly we can see after the activity they innovation was accomplish, the infection of it is not as successful as what they predict, it did not help much to change people’s bad habit or ideal, most people still doing the same things they normally do . In other hand we can think better way to deal this situation, like study how to lead pacific evacuate fast, make some movie how that will affect us… Of cause I don’t have right to say that, unless I doing something to help the plastic debris and pollution in the ocean. Good job.

Très bien, hero!

My answer to this question is positive. Admittedly, it looks just like a show at the first look of the way the tow-man crew raising public awareness for social problem. And it is seems quite astonish to hear that there are someone would like to spend so much time and efforts merely to draw public attention to the plastic pollution problem. But after a comprehensive and deeper thinking, I believe there is a hidden rationality behind their seemingly impulsive activity.

Someone may argue that they just waste time on the meaningless things. They could use the time they spend on the journey to do much more meaningful thing. Such as hold a campaign to call the legislature attention, or to recycle the abandoned plastic bottles. That is more directly to change the environment and to improve the way we deal with trash.

But when those people judge their activity, I quite doubt weather they have ever do something good to ameliorate the fragile environment. The potential influence of their deed is maybe too profound and extensive to be ignored. The public may just curious about the extraordinary adventure at first, but after that they still may admire their brave spirit and determined attitude to change the unsatisfactory reality. The deed is sure a vivid and impressive education to everyone who hears their story. Can you think out something else that have a more far-reaching influence than a good education?

I appreciate their eye-catching way to raise public awareness of the social problem.

Good Job

I'm not surprised when I came across the news. There're many people around the world doing the same kind of thing to get their idea through.
Maybe some people think this is kinda extremist. Yes, it is. But I'm afraid only by doing something extreme can wake up the public and raise awareness for different social problems. Let's say a slogan was supposed to let people step back 3 steps, it usually turned out that people just back off 1 step. So in order to let people to step back 3 steps, you have to say"back off 6 steps"---something extreme. Actually, the public hasn't realized that what they are doing are also extreme to the nature. It really struck me when I read that when Eriksen and Joel were going to eat a fish but found its stomach full of plastic confetti.
If making a slogan or something like that doesn't work, we have to do some thing extreme to raise the awareness.
