Does it make any sense?

Looking at the title and picture, my first reaction was smiling but with a little bitter feeling. I confess that what they did has already aroused people's concern or in another way-attention. However, the attention is absolutely not enough for solving the problem of debris and pollution in the ocean. Now, there are more and more publicities about environment protection they are everywhere on the TV, news papers and Internet. But do they have valid influence? The answer might not be positive. It seems that more people became numb with this kind of publicities and now it will be more difficult to change their attitude in wasting.
In addition, I do respect Marcus and Paschal for they both have a brave heart and I appreciate their concern with environment protection at the same time. They have a positive purpose that is to creatively raise awareness about plastic debris and pollution in the ocean. In my opinion, their behavior might not be most efficient and effective way for solving the problem. What we should do is to focus on education and finding means like some new application in technology to deal with pollution. The education I mentioned in last sentence is not the simple education like what Marcus and Paschal did to show how serious that the problem of pollution now but to tell the people specifically what damage would pollution lead. Maybe that's the key to this question.
